“Things do not change; we change.”- Henry David Thoreau
Many of us are fun of quitting when we are faced with unexpected challenges. I had learned that no matter what you do or where you are you will definitely face challenges in life. When and how it would happen is what one must prepare for. While trying to expand my reference about lives and learn from others for me to gain more insight about what set few apart and still live a meaningful life with all they had experience. The following story is culled from The Power of Focus I want you to learn from it and see how it can be apply to your life.
“Nothing splendid has ever been achieved except by those who dared believe that something inside of them was superior to circumstance.” – Bruce Barton
One of the first things successful people realize is the old adage, “If it is to be, it is up to me.” That is, for you, the fact that your success and your course is up to you. This doesn’t mean that you do it all alone. It simply means that you take responsibility for your life and your career.
There are a number of words that are popular in the lexicon of every supervisor or manager, and ‘motivation’ seems to be the one I hear the most when I work with my executive coaching clients. ‘How can I motivate my staff? How can I motivate my children? How can I motivate customers?’
Let’s take a look at the four most common Motivation Myths.
Most people have definite views-call them theories, if you like-about what motivates others. Whether you’re the lounge-chair sports expert or the company CEO, most of the views held have some merit. Converting those theories into practice, however, hasn’t met with the same degree of success. In fact, in practice, many of those theories espoused have failed to get people to give that little extra-to pull a little harder, if you like. A common fallback approach usually involves manipulative and carrot-and-stick behaviors. From the plethora of information and advice about motivation, I have identified ten key principles that will help you to successfully convert your theories of motivation into everyday practice.
Many people need sources of inspiration in their lives, but often they do not know where to look to find that inspiration. There are free motivational games available to help motivate people who need help in this particular area. Finding these sources of free motivational help is not as hard as one might first think.
The Buddy System as a Motivational Game
There are many reasons people want or need to attend motivational workshops and seminars. These reasons vary greatly from individual to individual. However, no matter what the reason for going may be, motivational seminars can be a great help for those who choose to attend.
Reasons People Attend Motivational Seminar

3. Sometimes people need help getting motivated to stop doing something.
4. Sometimes people feel afraid and need help getting motivated to make a change in their lives.
5. Sometimes people just feel a lack of motivation to do anything at all and need a jumpstart.
Do you find it hard to get motivated sometimes? Me too! Here are some ways I find that help in my own motivation mission!
Finding Motivation in the Little Things
Are you one of those people that have a difficult time finding the motivation to get things done? One of the biggest misconceptions in life is that motivation will simply fall into your lap and everything will be great! C’mon – surely you know this is not what actually happens in the real world. Success is all about action! Take action now!
The definition of motivation is to give reason, incentive, enthusiasm, or interest that causes a specific action or certain behavior. Motivation is present in every life function. Simple acts such as eating are motivated by hunger. Education is motivated by desire for knowledge. Motivators can be anything from reward to coercion.
There are two main kinds of motivation: intrinsic and extrinsic. Intrinsic motivation is internal. It occurs when people are compelled to do something out of pleasure, importance, or desire. Extrinsic motivation occurs when external factors compel the person to do something. However, there are many theories and labels that serve as sub tittles to the definition of motivation. For example: “I will give you a candy bar if you clean your room.” This is an example of reward motivation.
What’s your motivation? What’s keeps you going when you sometimes do not feeling like continuing on? Do you have a goal you want to accomplish? Are you trying to impress a love one? Are you motivated for health reasons? Well, whatever your motivation is, let’s get motivated and let stay motivated.
Motivated people get things done. Motivated people do not procrastinate or hesitate when it comes time to do something. Motivated people are successful people and successful people are motivated people. You will never achieve success if you are not motivated. A person’s desire to be successful is their motivation. Money could be your motivation, fame could be your motivation or even wanting to help other people could be a motivation for you.
